Today i try to bring again something unknown to the gothic community, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to talk about a well known Goth band but it do makes sense to write about a special gothic band, today we talk about a band that combines their music with magic, we talk about…

Sacro, Magic and Gothic Metal

Certainly it’s unusual but nowadays that we have seen “everything” it’s refreshing to find bands that create spectacles with different ideas, Sacro combines their music with magic tricks created with fire and mysticism.

Sincerely I liked their approach, I leave you with one of their songs so you can taste them.

Sacro was created in 2005  by Andy (voice and piano) in the province of Tucuman (Argentine) with the idea of creating a melodic metal band, soon Juan Pablo Gotar joined the band as drummer, Juan had been in several other band sin the past and contributed with the needed experience for the band, with him and Luis Vallejo as bass they recorded their first EP.

After looking beneath every rock a guitarist they finally found Gabriel how brought serenity and musical talent and with that formation they presented their first album in argentine in 2007 under the name of “Contemplación”.

After their first live shows they noticed that their shows were a little weak because their singer was all the time behind the piano so they started to look for a new piano player, they finally found Jose Santillán but not happy with having improved their live shows they thought that now that Andy had his hands free he could add to the show a few of his magic tricks giving the group a new strength and their identity sign.

Nowadays Sacro have a show once per month in different provinces for their fans which growth day after day and they have sold 700 copies of their album for about 15$ each.

(If you want a copy send me an email and ill put you in contact with them).

Without doubt their spectacle has a dark smell and even it could be considered satanic by those that have no idea what are they talking about but the band states that… “we do what we do because they like it and the album only want to show the friendship that links us, we don’t have any special religious believes or politic tendencies, we believe in music and we don’t have even a flag relation”.

We have to point out that there are very few gothic metal bands in Argentine because it’s a very little popular style there.

We could like their music or not but what’s truth is that this band has something to teach us, and its their identity sign, something that lot of talented bands lack and makes them impossible to shine in a world in which you have to be different to be anyone.

If this groups knows about something it’s about giving spectacle, able to raise to the scenario dancers or create a fireworks spectacle in the middle of the show, it wouldn’t be strange to see witches, tin mans or other fantasy creatures in their scenario.
