I have just found a great gothic artist… I didn’t knew him and I bet that most of you don’t know him either… today we talk about…
Steve McGhee Apocalyptic Photography
The title wants to say everything but in truth it doesn’t say anything, Steve McGhee is a photoshop artist… that’s basically because his job cannot be photographed otherwise… and even if you could, you´ll probably be quite busy thinking in other things to take a photo of the moment…
I have eared some people stating that photoshop it’s a shame for photographers and that whichever use it, it’s not a real photographer… well I do not agree with that, I think that photoshop it’s an artistic tool like any other and well, maybe it does not compete in the same league with standard photography but it’s still art… you just have to find the art in different aspects.
In this case the merit resided in the composition of his images that will provoke in you feelings that you wont feel otherwise… in deed that’s what art it’s about, it’s about being able to communicate emotions or concepts using a method different than the normal language.
If you have to explain me what you want to say with your piece of art… then it’s not art at all… that’s not steve case…
There are plenty of photos that reminds to some apocalyptic film… I don’t really know who was first and who got the inspiration from who, but they are still awesome…
But those aren’t my favorite photos, they look quite impersonal … I prefer this ones…
Here you can almost taste the agony of the victim…
The metro photo is really shocking, there seem to be an irrational hate between the 2 old women, both seems to know why one of them is going to die but even then she seems to be thinking on how to take revenge on the other live…
But what you saya bout the 3rd girl? She seems away from what´s happening behind but her life might end in the same shot if that bullet go across it’s victim head… as it will presumably do…
Hate à death à collateral victim à Hate…
It’s the history of all escalated conflicts and soon no one can remember why are they killing each other…
The truck image is more agonic and less philosophical for me… I don’t know how or why that corpse ended there but it seems to have been desperately trying to survive… imagine the situation of you standing in a lumber truck and then someone dropping on you the next pack of lumber… it’s nothing less than shocking… ¿and what about the other guy walking away? Maybe it was him who didn’t let the victim to get out of the truck? Maybe he dropped the trees? Or he is so used to death that he is unaffected by a sight like that?
If you want to see more you can search for his work in googleimages or check his Website: http://stevemcghee.com/
