I’m not sure how I landed into the Web site of a gothic digital artist that I swear looks great, in deed I had problems for choosing just a small portion of her job for illustrating this article… yeah well I just couldn’t take it all with me, I would if that were an option… anyway, today we meet:
LadySymphonia (AKA Nathalia Suellen) is a gothic digital artist… It would be much better to say it’s a GREAT gothic digital artist.
I know that there is plenty of people who consider that the digital art is like “cheating” there is even people that doubt that you could be an “artist” if you work on digital arguing that those artist is just people that is not able to show in their photos what they want to express so they have to relay on those “dirty” tricks for doing their job.
Well that’s not my opinion, my opinion is that what it’s cheating is to take a photo, then do some digital work on it and then pretend that that digital work was never done (as we see quite often in lot’s of magazines).
But that’s not the case, this is a completely different league, what Nathalia wants is to create some gothic dreamy places thanks to the tools provided by digital art that allow us to come to new and unexplored words, in deed her own slogan prays: “The One Who Create Dreams”.
And her job don’t disappoint:
But coming back to Nathalia… She was born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and found her passion for digital photography in 2008, since then she has been her own tutor and mentor discovering by herself the possibilities of the digital era while creating for us all a lot of new gothic, macabre and dark places to dream.
With only 19 years old she started her own bushiness “Lady Simphonia Digital Art” and thanks to her first clients and I suppose his “a little bit weird” orders, Nathalia was able to improve her drawing skills.
Slow at first but faster as her work evolved her strange, emotional and dark vision started to lure a lot of photographers, clients and fans as a sirens call would do all round the world, her innovative work is really hypnotizing, just don’t take a look to her gallery if you don’t want to expend a few hours of your lives delighting yourself with her job.
As you can see Nathalia Work creates a dreamy world with strange lights and dark elements but always capturing the most dramatic part of the scene.
In her style we will be able to find faeries Victorian cloths or scenery, very few lights, gostly ambient and dark forest… anything someone that enjoys the goth culture would request in her own living room.
I suppose that a few people would be wondering if there is a market for this kind of creations that allow you to work just on this… well the truth is that it exists, ad well for me it inspires both envy and respect that she is able to work on what he likes and still work inside the gothic scene.
In deed it looks like she is not in lack of clients, her list goes from musical bands to publicists, photographers and a wide range of artists.
I don’t have much more to say… just that for writing this lines I read her bio and the interviews that she was made and that you can find in her Website (link below) and from everything I read I want to stress just a question made by the deviant art interview (I didn’t knew that Deviant art made interviews) and of course the answer.
Not because it says a lot about the protagonist of this article but because I found the answer really interesting:

Here I go again,Everybody stop to read tutorials plz! I really really hate lazy learners. they want read art, what should I do with you? they dont want to try...tutorials wont help you if you dont try. take a look in many artists, arts, theirs styles, choose your favorite one, see what you liked and what you would like to change...You just need try what you wanna learn...
