Today I come with a young gothic musical band that I suppose most of you didn’t heard about before, at least I didn’t and the truth is that it hurts my soul to have miss this band for so long, the music I’m showing you today is performed by…

Whyzdom (France)

Whyzdom french band

As most of the stuff that ends being written in this Web site, I found Whyzdom in a lucky strike surfing around the Web I saw a article reading “The gothic symphonic band Whyzdom will release their second CD during 2011” (or something like that). After reading that I wondered who the hell was Whyzdom? So moved by curiosity I listened to some of their songs.

And the truth is that I was quite surprised for what I heard, the first time you take a look to the band you could get the feeling that it’s another band that base their work on a good female single followed by Goth music in the line of a lot of other (good) bands that already succeeded with that scheme.

But the fact is that if you pay a little attention you notice that they have added a few things that make them special, let’s start saying that they use large orchestras when making their compositions or when recording their songs, that alone makes me dream in, one day, listening a concert of this band inside a theatre with a  good acoustic and without so much amplifiers, just bare voice.

You will find the second addition in the chorus they use in their recordings of their songs or even in live concerts where that’s possible, I leave you with a  few photos of their chorus so you can taste their aesthetic and feel the impact that could produce on a live show.

Now mix that with a  good gothic music and a passionate female voice and you could get a good idea on what Whyzdom created, I think that it’s the logic evolution of gothic music, maybe the next level on what gothic symphonic bands get us used to listen.

At this time you probably will we wondering what’s their music style is, well I would say that it’s something between gothic metal and classical music but even better of me saying anything is that you listen to them so you could get your own impressions, the next song is called “daughter of night” and I think that just for this song it worth to listen to this band:

I can’t end this article without giving some basic information about this band:

The band was created thanks to their guitarist and orchestator “Vynce Leff” in early 2007, Vynce was already well known in the music sphere thanks to the production of several albums for Cyclops records. After recruiting a few member for the band and after just 6 months of hard work their first EP was released, it was called “daughter of the night” (At this stage you should know how it sounds).

That single was praised by the critics and received the best French band award by metalsymphonique.com and the best EP awarded by heavyLaw.com, yeah, I know that’s not exactly the Oscar awards but giving the amount of bands that starts nowadays earning those awards is saying something.

Since then and until June 2010 the band even being little more than a newborn was invited to play in several French festivals and in one of those they earned the contest for the best female vocalist.

In June 2010 their former vocalist (Telya Melane) left the band. Lisa Middelhauve, ex Xandria singer, accepted to be main invited vocalist at the Raismes fest 2010 and in Parus as support for Tarja.

Soon after that Clémentine Delauney joined the band ready for giving her voice to the album that will be released during this year.

If you want to listen to her voice you can do it in the following song that wont be in their next album, it’s a gift for the band followers that stay tuned to the band news:

But talking about the next CD…

The dist will be dedicated to those that follow misguided paths, confused by those which they love, hate or try to control them or even by their own pride. In some or less their own words (I lost the article where I read it so I’m writing what I remember) “ we are convinced that each of us could recognize himself in this situation one day or another and that’s why we decided to call this album…” (Sorry to Whyzdom if they read this and this wasn’t exactly what they wanted to say).

Blind ?

(No link yet sorry).

Recording sessions started on 21st February and the full week was dedicated to the drum, the rest of the sessions will take place during spring, mix and mastering during summer and if all goes well the CD is going to be released late 2011.

And well, I don’t have anything more to say so… Enjoy their first album while they release the second one.
