Some days ago I received a question in the Spanish Web site “sister” of this one about hot to get a cyber Goth hairstyle, since we are here for answering that kind of questions… here is the answer:

How to make a cyber Goth Hairstyle

The first thing that I would like to say is that there isn’t any reason why you shouldn’t experiment your own ideas o cybergoth styling, Goth movement is a creative movement open to other people ideas so no one will say to you that there are fixed riles on how to get your perfect cybergoth hairstyle.

That means that it’s perfectly acceptable that you simply ignore this tutorial and go to explore your own techniques, possibly cheaper and easier to make, did you thought on simply adding some UV gel color? (in green, pink or yellow tones, they wash with a single shower) you could add some extensions in striking colors and it would be done.

Another steep would be to add some wax for giving your air a desired aspect (crest anyone?).

The good part is that it takes little time for doing it and it’s cheap, also you can wear it during Saturday night and wash it for attending your week job if you are not allowed to dress whatever you want in it.

If you are looking for something “more permanent” then possibly the most simple option comes from the punk tendency, some aesthetic Goth tendencies goes quite parallel with punk tendencies, in my opinion in cyber terms they are even closer.

The option here is to wear really short air in certain parts of your head, I personally think that cutting really short the back of the heads looks great while leaving the upper part longer, shaving it completely looks great too

But that’s only an opinion and I bet that you don’t require a tutorial for reading that.

So having said that, lets talk about the real tutorial on how to get “this” hairstyle that requires a little bit more of science.

The below totoria and the upper image are made by Chameleonkitty (http://chameleonkitty.deviantart.com) and for doing the tutorial we are going to need:

-         Your own hair (so if you have it really short, you are going to have to wait until it growths a little)

-         An hairbrush

-         A show lace

-         A pair of socks

-         4 Hair ties

-         An Air band (it would be much better if it’s a cyber Goth style)

-         goggles

-         A pair of dread falls

-         A string of fake hair

To display this content, you need a JavaScript capable browser.

The tutorial starts by showing us all the stuff that we are going to need (so if I was unable to translate it well, you will see what exactly is in the video) and then follow by creating a pair of small buns that we will use later for fixing the dead falls, we will make one bun at each side of the head, then fix them using a hair tie.

Then we will cover the buns with one sock each, and we will fix it using a second hair tie that will give the bun more strength for supporting the weight of the dread falls.

Then we will use the shoe lace for tying both buns, I would bet that doing it we will give the structure a better basement for supporting the dread falls weight and keeping them in place while dancing.

Now we are ready for adding the dread falls, those have a pair of laces that you are going to tie to the buns. At that point you will have one dread fall falling for each of the sides of your head, and that doesn’t looks good, so you will want to cross the hair of them for giving a better covertures over your head.

Play with it until you reach a look that you like and then add some hairpins, the more you add the fewer times that you are going to go to the bathroom for repairing your hairstyle, it’s possible to have it fixed for all the night, it just requires a little bit of experience a few of hair pins.

Next steep is to add the string of fake air to your hair, it will give your hairstyle a more natural look, and will create the illusion of those dread falls being your own real hair.

And it’s over, for last touches we will use the hair band, you should use this band for adding more support to your hair so it stays in position longer than just being hold by the buns.

Lastly we add the goggles that you can wear over your head or as a necklace, both will look great.

And well, that’s all! Hope you liked it.

Im not quite sure if you wanted a cyber hair style or not, but I´ll do my best for offering you some advices.

You could go for some "cracy" look by ussing fixing your hair in "spykes" of different colors (unless your hair is too short for doing that).

Another less radical option could be to dye a lock of hair ussing a UV tone (those that glow under UV light), that looks quite cyber and is easily removable in a single wash.

A crest could do the job too.

If you want to use some extra complement you could look for cyber goth wig... I should raise an article about wigs too...

Hope this is of some use for you.
