It was some time since I last published a gothic makeup tutorial so it’s time to keep with the updates, today we talk about…

Red Gothic Makeup

This tutorial is created by a Sweden girl of 27 years old, this video is a little bit long and I think that making this makeup design will take a bit of time, but as you will notice, the steps are quite easy to perform.

As always I leave you with the video tutorial and I’ll extract some photos and writing what needs to be done in case you want to print it or anything.

The video starts with the artist using a red lipstick, with it she paints both upper eyelids maintaining an oval shape, using the same lipstick she pains the lower eyelid (next image worth more than a  thousand words)

Next she blurs with a cotton stick the previous step borders.

Next step consists in, using a black eye shadow, applying a black shade all over the eyelids, how she does it, it’s not easy to explain with words but we will try: the girl apply the shadow only in the upper half of the upper eyelid (from the outer side until approximately half of the circle that forms the upper eyelid) and just over the eyelashes but leaving a pure red color in the center of the eyelid.

Then she apply a soft line of eye shadow from the external part of the eye to the outside, later over that line we will apply a black eyeliner, we will see that later.

Next she apply a red shadow for emphasize all red makeup.

Finally, for ending this part of the makeup, she gives a red touch with the same eyeshadow in the area between the makeup we already applied and the eyebrows.

At this point and regardless of my poor instructions we should have something like this:

The next steep and almost last one makes us to use the black eyeliner, with it we will delineate the upper eyelid leaving a line to the outside and slightly upwards (above the black eyeshadow that we applied earlier), in the same way in the interior side of the eye, we paint a line to the nose slightly downwards.

Finally, as the last touches, we apply a black mascara over the eyelashes and with a lack pencil we define the waterline, with that, we are done:

Hello, first of all I love your makeup, It's beautiful. I just need a little help, I use eye shadow, and I have been wanting to make an oval on my eyes with it but it just does not work out for me. And my eye shadow goes all over my skin and smudges my face makeup. I hate it :angry-red: And when I use Eye liner it smudges all over my boyfriends face :/ but I think I can make an oval better that way. What do you think is best? Eye Shadow or Eye Liner?

As a general rule I preffer Eye Linner for straigh lines and for "drawing" complicated patrons, otherwise I use Eyeshadow.

Never has the problem you are describing of my girl friend ending with all my makeup over her face... so im not sure how to help you there...

maybe you aren´t ussing high quality makeup?, if thats not the case try this tip: clean your skin before the makeup application and then apply a base of loose powders before applying the actual makeup.

Let me know if it worked.
